The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care and Department of Agriculture are working together to implement the National Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy 2015–2019 (National AMR Strategy).

The National AMR Strategy guides Australia's efforts across human and animal health, as well as food and agriculture sectors to:

  • minimise the development and spread of AMR
  • ensure all sectors work together to reduce antimicrobial use
