The Senate Finance and Public Administration References Committee’s report Progress in the implementation of the recommendations of the 1999 Joint Expert Technical Advisory Committee on Antibiotic Resistance makes 10 recommendations relating to enhanced monitoring and reporting of antibiotic usage and resistance in animals and humans.

The report is primarily focussed on analyses of 2015 data. It builds on AURA 2016 to increase the comprehensiveness of the picture of antimicrobial use, resistance and the appropriateness of prescribing in Australia across all healthcare settings.
